Greg Liburd
Greg Liburd is a Brooklyn-based co-founder of IRL, building at the crossing of culture and technology. His New York runs through the Black-owned neighborhood spots of Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights, the rooms where he starts (and often ends) his nights.
For his New York, Greg maps five Black-owned spots that anchor his Brooklyn rotation, from a soul food room where comfort is set on 10, to a craft beer bar lined with thousands of records, by way of the most neighborhood cocktail bar he knows.

I first went to Peaches with a Bed Stuy bud. The bartender and I ended up chopping it up over Severance, which pretty much sums up the vibe. It’s a Brooklyn take on soul food: fried chicken, catfish, mac and cheese, grits, comfort set on 10. The room fills with neighborhood regulars, families, and glowing dates, all blending together in an airy, lived-in space.

BierWax
BierWax is a craft beer bar meets a world-class vinyl collection. Thousands of records line the walls, hip-hop leaning DJs spin regularly, and live jazz bands give the place a music-first feel. The taps lean toward small breweries, and the crowd is mostly locals who appreciate a good, slow pint. It’s a soulful neighborhood staple where the atmosphere is as curated as the beer list, making it a highly recommended spot for anyone who values great sound and even better suds.
